Test Manager

The Programme and Project Partners (PPP) model was mobilised in 2019 with the purpose of transforming major project delivery at the Sellafield nuclear site.

The partnership brings together KBR, Jacobs, Morgan Sindall Infrastructure, Altrad Babcock and Sellafield Ltd to deliver a 20-year pipeline of major infrastructure projects to support the decommissioning of Sellafield and to create a clean and safe environment for future generations.

In delivering its pipeline of large-scale infrastructure projects, PPP is creating opportunities for its people, supply chain, economy and communities.

Essential: UK National working remotely, with occasional trips to client sites

Desirable: Cumbria/Cheshire with trips to client sites

Qualifications, Experience, and Skills

Qualifications - Educational:

Degree, or equivalent

IT/CIS Honours Degree or Equivalent

Qualifications - Professional

Experience and Skills:

• Production of Test Strategy, Test Plans and acceptance criteria;
• Interpret high and low-level designs and deployment topologies for target environments to establish appropriate test approach both functional and non-functional related to infrastructure components, cloud services, security controls/capabilities, etc.;
• Management of test team and Users for all elements of testing including Unit/application/integration FAT and UAT;
• Validate and oversee Third Party Vendors and System;
• Develop and maintain test documentation;
• Experience of DevOps, DevSecOps and Agile working;
• Thorough understanding of appropriate testing to support UK Gov security assurance of Systems.
• Experience of manual and automated testing;
• Management of Non-Functional Testing / Operational Acceptance Testing;
• Creation of Systems test Documentation;
• Experience of automated test tools, Low Code systems design and implementation.

Project Background

DelCap is the mechanism through which project management and delivery will be transformed to enforce optimised processes.

Sellafield is seeking to both improve the quality of project delivery across the enterprise and reduce the overspend that has occurred in previous years due to time and physical clashes between projects and programmes on the site.

Core Responsibilities and Duties

• Experience of:
• Creation of a Test Strategy;
• Creation of High Level test Plans and acceptance gates with criteria;
• Management of test and users test representatives;
• Working as part of an agile sprint team;
• Testing of security accredited solutions;
• Use of both manual and automated test tools.
• Experience in:
• Mgt of Integration tests;
• Mgt of FAT/UAT;
• Mgt of regression tests;
• Mgt of BCDR/ Failover and performance tests;
• Delivery with agile methods, such as SCRUM, and a DevOps environment.
• At least three years’ experience testing solutions within a secure environment;
• Experience in use of industry standard methods for documenting and controlling the test process;
• Proven ability to collaborate with team members and a wide range of people;
• Demonstrates good organisational skills giving the ability to deliver to meet timeframes and estimates;
• Demonstrates good written, oral, comprehension and presentational skills.
• Knowledge and experience of:
• Information security constraints and best practice;
• Creation and curation of test data;
• Knowledge of market leading DevOps and automated test solutions.
• Integration technology, cloud services and cloud integration services, e.g., message brokerage, enterprise service bus, gateways, etc.
• Proven ability in creating and leading a comprehensive test approach to systems with multiple COTS and APIs as well as developed code;
• Ability to think creatively;
• Proven experience in the delivery of software development;
• Experience in the creation of test approach based upon design and review of software development;
• Knowledge of both traditional and DevSecOps approaches to software implementation;
• Knowledge of the tools and processes for DevOps / DevSecOps continuous build and integration;
• Hold, have held, or eligible to apply for UK based security clearance – SC or better;
• Microsoft certification.
• Understanding of computing trends, e.g., AI, IoT, open source, distributed processing;
• Experience of enterprise networking and integration in the public sector, including hybrid cloud.
