Job description

Job Title: Test & Inspection Electrician

Salary: £25.09 PH

Time: Full time

Location: Edmonton

Reports To: Site Manager

Contract Duration: 3 Months (24/02/2025 To 23/05/2025)

General Overview:

Our client is recruiting for a position in their Electrical Inspection & Testing Team. The successful candidate will report directly to the Site T&I Supervisor and will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of the electrical testing and inspection contract, including development of the contract.

The role involves operating and maintaining the plant at the designated sites in line with existing procedures, fulfilling site health, safety, environmental, quality, and customer service targets, and identifying areas for continual improvement.

Key responsibilities include:

  1. Ensuring that all works under your control are effectively carried out and that third-party contractors comply with Company Procedures and site-specific procedures.
  2. Following company procedures and standards as expressed in the Company Handbooks.
  3. Completing all administrative functions correctly and efficiently, either through paper logbooks or appropriate IT software.
  4. Becoming fully familiar with all Company and CCEP site procedures affecting the contract and carrying out all responsibilities detailed in the EMS.
  5. Representing the Company well to customers and external agencies, maintaining a clean and tidy condition of the site and Company property.
  6. Maintaining a good working relationship with customer representatives and ensuring all service agreement aspects are delivered with professionalism.

Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality Responsibilities:

Part responsible for the SHEQ performance of the site. Duties include:

  1. Ensuring that works are conducted in line with Company Safe Systems of Work and the site Permit to Work system.
  2. Working with the Site Supervisor/Manager to ensure contract delivery.

Operational Responsibilities:

Responsibilities include:

  1. Providing input into and managing the planned maintenance schedule, ensuring tasks are completed in accordance with the agreed PPM planner, SLA, and KPI targets.
  2. Completing PPM and reactive works activities in accordance with contract requirements.
  3. Supervising works carried out by specialist sub-contractors and reporting anomalies to the Contract Supervisor / Site Management.
  4. Identifying obsolete and end-of-life-cycle equipment for input into the forward maintenance plan and updating the asset register.
  5. Being aware of and understanding control of legionella and associated required works.
  6. Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of existing plant and equipment.
  7. Attending site in response to breakdowns or failures of equipment outside normal working hours (call outs).
  8. Familiarizing with and understanding the site contingency plans for emergency situations.
  9. Carrying out scheduled Electrical testing and Inspection maintenance tasks including but not limited to Emergency Lighting, ECIR, Illumination Levels, Infra-Red, Motors, PAT, Static Discharge, and Lightning Protection.
  10. Assisting in producing Method Statements and Risk Assessments.
  11. Reporting all incidents and accidents, including near misses, to the Site Manager.
  12. Being aware of the key financial targets for the site and seeking opportunities to enhance the Company's relationship with existing customers.

Qualifications or Required Experience:

  1. Apprenticeship, primary trade qualifications, and substantial experience within a building services and manufacturing environment.
  2. ECS Gold Card Installation Electrician (Essential).
  3. C&G 2391, or equivalent Testing & Inspection (Essential).
  4. 18th Edition Electrical Qualification (Essential).
  5. CMMS (SAM FM) (Desirable).
  6. HND/HNC Electrical Qualification (Desirable).
  7. ISOH/Safety Passport (Desirable).

Knowledge:

  1. Health & Safety legislation (IOSH Managing Safely) and Company procedures.
  2. COSHH.
  3. Water Hygiene.
  4. Site technical systems.
  5. Facilities management services.
  6. Company Quality procedures.
  7. Company Environmental Management plan and local procedures.
  8. IT business support systems including SAP and Planon CAFM system.
