Key Responsibilities
- Testing & Validation: Conduct comprehensive testing of electric motors and drive units, including thermal, drag, torque, and EMF analysis.
- Data Analysis & Reporting: Process test data to generate actionable insights and detailed reports using tools like Excel or Python.
- Prototype Support: Assist the design and development team with prototype testing and development guidance.
- Equipment Assembly: Build, maintain, and optimise test rigs and associated systems.
- Problem Solving: Lead fault and failure analysis, offering alternative solutions using methodologies like 8D processes.
- Process Improvement: Proactively refine testing procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
About You
We're seeking a skilled Test, Prototype, or Development Engineer with a strong foundation in automotive or EV technology. The ideal candidate will thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.
Key Skills and Experience:
- Proven R&D testing experience in prototypes, components, or systems.
- Solid understanding of electro-mechanical products, ideally in automotive or aerospace sectors.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, test specifications, and technical documents.
- Practical mechanical and assembly skills for building test rigs and troubleshooting systems.
- Strong analytical skills for processing and interpreting test data.
- Excellent awareness of safety protocols and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- A qualification in mechanical, automotive, or precision engineering (HNC, HND, or degree preferred).
