This Test Engineering role offers the opportunity to work with state-of-the-art dynamic test equipment, conducting thermal, drag, torque, and EMF tests. You'll play a key part in building and optimising test rigs, analysing data, and contributing to the development of groundbreaking solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Testing & Validation: Conduct comprehensive testing of electric motors and drive units, including thermal, drag, torque, and EMF analysis.
  2. Data Analysis & Reporting: Process test data to generate actionable insights and detailed reports using tools like Excel or Python.
  3. Prototype Support: Assist the design and development team with prototype testing and development guidance.
  4. Equipment Assembly: Build, maintain, and optimise test rigs and associated systems.
  5. Problem Solving: Lead fault and failure analysis, offering alternative solutions using methodologies like 8D processes.
  6. Process Improvement: Proactively refine testing procedures to enhance efficiency and accuracy.

About You

We're seeking a skilled Test, Prototype, or Development Engineer with a strong foundation in automotive or EV technology. The ideal candidate will thrive in a hands-on, fast-paced environment.

Key Skills and Experience:

  1. Proven R&D testing experience in prototypes, components, or systems.
  2. Solid understanding of electro-mechanical products, ideally in automotive or aerospace sectors.
  3. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, test specifications, and technical documents.
  4. Practical mechanical and assembly skills for building test rigs and troubleshooting systems.
  5. Strong analytical skills for processing and interpreting test data.
  6. Excellent awareness of safety protocols and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  7. A qualification in mechanical, automotive, or precision engineering (HNC, HND, or degree preferred).
