Test Development Engineer

Job Description

My client is a world leader in its field, and part of a globally successful UK-based business. They design, manufacture, sell and support a range of highly advanced threat detection and security products for global markets in commercial, aviation, defence and security sectors. The products range from small hand-held devices through to large systems, and are sold and supported via an extensive global network. For this Test Development Engineer job, you will be responsible for the development of high quality, high demand products sold into a regulated environment and supporting the product design throughout its life, making continuous improvements to improve product value.

Main Responsibilities

1. Work with colleagues in R&D and Manufacturing to sustain existing manufacturing activities and introduce new manufacturing capabilities for existing products and for New Product Introductions.
2. Fault Finding & Diagnostics, demonstrating extensive fault-finding experience at the component level in the development and testing of electronic products.
3. Support existing manufacturing by responding to electronics related problems, and continuous improvement of existing electronics test environment.
4. Work with external suppliers.

Skills/Experience Needed

1. Proven Fault-Finding experience diagnosing and troubleshooting down to component level.
2. Experience with mixed signal board designs that integrate Power supplies, both low and high voltage.
3. Competent user of schematic capture & simulation tools.
4. Familiar with electronics manufacturing methods.
5. Electronic Engineering Degree / HNC (or equivalent), with provable design experience.

This Test Development Engineer must be eligible to pass SC clearance and therefore VISA sponsorship can't be considered.
