I am currently recruiting for a Test & Development Engineer to work for a key client of mine based in Surrey. Salary circa £30,000 + Benefits.

The organisation has been established for over 80 years, is an industry leader within its field and has 20 manufacturing facilities across multiple countries. Their revenue last year was over £3 billion and they employ over 7,000 employees worldwide.

To support the growth of the business, they need to appoint a Test & Development Engineer on a permanent basis based out of the European HQ in Surrey.

In this role as a Test & Development Engineer, you will be working in a multi-disciplined R&D team and will be responsible for testing, validating, and verifying the state of vehicles to ensure they meet design specifications and regulatory requirements. You will work closely with the engineers to understand what they want to test the vehicles for and why. From here, you will devise a test plan and specification, set up the tests, conduct the tests, analyze the results, and provide feedback and recommendations based on the findings to the engineering team.

Ideal Requirements:

1. 1 year of experience in industry as a Test & Development Engineer, Validation Engineer, Verification Engineer, or similar
2. Background in electrical / electronics
3. Experience using Data Loggers and Oscilloscopes
4. A testing-inclined mentality – wanting to break things to prove they work and pushing a system to its limits
5. Experience with full life cycle testing – devise a test plan, conduct the testing, analyze the results, and provide recommendations
6. Experience with Sensors
7. Understanding of CAN or CANalyser
8. Understanding of SIL
