KBR supports the hydrocarbon and government services markets on six continents. Serving their customers through diverse business units, KBR offers challenging assignments on some of the world's largest and most complex projects.

We are looking to recruit a Test Analyst on a 12-month contract based in Warrington.

On Offer:

  1. Competitive hourly pay rate
  2. Outside IR35, highly likely so engagement via a Ltd Co. is permitted
  3. Remote working with monthly trips to client UK National sites
Responsibilities

Test Planning and Strategy:
  1. Construct Master Test Plans based on Organisational Test Strategy based on project requirements and specifications e.g. for workflow deployment using Intelligent Business Process management tools, including integration with other data sources and applications.
  2. Collaborate with project managers, developers, and other stakeholders to define testing scope and objectives.
  3. Identify and prioritize test cases to ensure maximum test coverage for Functional and/or Non-Functional Test: Functional Test: System Test (ST), System Integration Test (SIT), User Acceptance Test (UAT), Infrastructure Test (IT) Non-Functional Test: Load Test (LT), Security/Pen Test (PT), Operational Acceptance Test (OAT).

Test Execution and Reporting:
  1. Execute Functional and/or Non-Functional test cases manually and/or using automated testing tools.
  2. Record test results and document defects, ensuring clear and concise communication to development teams.
  3. Monitor and track defects to resolution, ensuring timely closure and retesting as necessary.
  4. Generate test reports and metrics to provide insights into product quality and test coverage.

Test Automation:
  1. Develop and maintain automated test scripts to streamline testing processes and improve efficiency.
  2. Identify opportunities for automation within the testing framework and collaborate with developers to implement automated testing solutions.
Quality Assurance and Process Improvement:
  1. Conduct peer reviews and provide feedback on test plans, test cases, and automation scripts.
  2. Contribute to the continuous improvement of testing processes and methodologies.
  3. Stay updated on industry best practices and emerging trends in software testing and quality assurance.
  4. Support Test readiness reviews.
Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  1. Work closely with development teams to understand product functionality and requirements.
  2. Collaborate with QA leads, business analysts, and project managers to ensure alignment on testing priorities and timelines.
  3. Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Test Deliverables:
  1. Input into Master Test Plan
  2. Test Cases / Scripts
  3. Test Execution Logs
  4. Input into Defect Report
  5. Input into Test Summary Report
Experience / Skills
  1. Proven experience as a Test Analyst or similar role, with a minimum of 5/6 years in software testing.
  2. Thoroughness and attention to detail for identifying bugs and ensuring comprehensive test coverage.
  3. Strong understanding of software testing methodologies like V Model methodology, Agile, Hybrid, including manual and automated testing techniques like SCRUM, Kanban, DevOps.
  4. Proficiency in manual and automated testing techniques, tools and frameworks (e.g. Azure DevOps, JIRA, HPALM, Selenium, Junit, Cucumber, CI/CD, SoapUI, POSTMAN).
  5. Experience with test automation frameworks and scripting languages (e.g., Java, Python).
  6. Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  7. Detail-oriented approach with a focus on delivering high-quality results within tight deadlines.
  8. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  9. Understanding of relevant regulatory standards and compliance requirements e.g. GDPR for data privacy.
  10. Ability to work with minimal levels of supervision.
  11. Demonstrates good organisational skills giving the ability to deliver to timeframes and estimates.

Qualifications

  1. Incorporated Engineer or equivalent
  2. Certification in Testing Methodology e.g. ISTQB (International Software Testing Qualifications Board) and/or SCRUM Practitioner Certification
  3. CSTP (Certified Software Test Professional)
