Our Tesco Colleague rate of pay starts from £12.02 an hour; this increases to £13.15 for stores inside the M25. For all hours worked between midnight and 6am you will receive an additional night premium of £2.30 per hour worked. Additional payments may also apply depending on location.

It’s our policy to offer new colleagues joining us a minimum of 16 guaranteed hours each week, but if you’d like to work fewer hours (to a minimum of 12) we have opportunities for this too and would still love to hear from you.

You will be responsible for:

  1. Knowing your customers and serving them with passion and pride; giving great natural service.
  2. Being passionate and knowledgeable about the products and services within the store.
  3. Working across the store in our service, picking and replenishment areas where required.
  4. Putting into practice the training received to work safely and effectively.
  5. Making decisions that are right for customers and delivering routines that meet customer needs.
  6. Taking part in seasonal, community and charity events, creating a great inclusive atmosphere.
  7. Being knowledgeable about your store’s performance and understanding the part you play in driving service and sales.
  8. Handling products with care to maintain quality.
  9. Being yourself, living our values, making everyone feel welcome and following our policies.
  10. Accepting deliveries into the store when required.
