Job Description:

The Opportunity

We have an exciting opportunity for a Tenancy Support Officer looking to make a real difference to people’s lives, homes and communities across Wales. This is a temporary opportunity for up to a 12-month period.

The role will be covering Flintshire, Denbighshire, Conwy and Wrexham in North Wales. However, this could be subject to change within the North Wales area.

Who are we looking for?

To succeed in this role, you will have a genuine passion and interest in what we do as an organisation. You will have excellent listening and communication skills that will allow you to understand the needs of the individual, understand the right problem to be solved, and manage expectations.

We are looking for applicants who have the ability to do what matters for our residents, strong oral and written communication skills, excellent organisational skills, and confidence in decision making.

You will be able to provide an important part of the housing management function and support residents to sustain their tenancies, maximise their income, and offer assistance with money management, debt, and benefit advice. Someone with a positive and flexible attitude, whose strong values align well with ours, will thrive in this role.

You will be an excellent team player, keeping officers across departments updated on actions you have taken by ensuring these are recorded on our ICT housing system promptly and accurately. Always seeking to improve on service delivery, you will identify where improvements can be made within our systems and use resident feedback to support this.

It is essential that you have a current driving license and access to a vehicle as you will be expected to attend our schemes/sites and visit our residents as required.

What will you be doing?

Using the WWH values, you will demonstrate effective skills and behaviours to confidently be a part of the housing management function and provide assistance and support to the resident whilst working alongside the wider housing team. You will enable the delivery of services to our residents by providing effective tenancy support.

You will be working with people who may be in debt and are also affected by welfare reform changes including universal credit, housing benefit, other welfare benefits, the benefit cap and the bedroom tax.

Engagement with residents is key so the ideal candidate needs to be very approachable and understanding of our residents, whilst being able to provide clear advice and provide excellent support.
