Mace is seeking to appoint an experienced PM to join this rapidly growing and successful part of the business. The project manager is required to work in Plymouth on an upgrade programme of works within a nuclear licenced site. The key roles will be to plan, direct, manage and oversee implementation of any temporary works (in line with BS5975) to ensure the clients goals and objectives are accomplished within prescribed schedule, budget and defined health, safety, and quality parameters. Effective communication with client, contractor and sub-contractors, consultants, and management of client and project stakeholders is required.

  7. Delivering and owning the allocated packages through the full project life cycle from initiation to handover.
  8. Supporting the delivery team regarding temporary works, overseeing the supply chain conformance. Managing internal temporary works supervisors and working alongside the designated individual.
  9. Working with the project stakeholders to define and develop the programme, cost plan and baseline changes.
  10. Managing the business risks within a procedurally driven organisation to enable successful succession through gate reviews.
  11. Ensuring delivery of the project to time, cost, and quality.
  12. Managing the project and reporting to senior management and client teams.
  13. Ensuring compliance with all working practices, standards of discipline, safety and quality are maintained through familiarisation and compliance with requirements of corporate procedures.
  14. Interfacing with sub-contractors to ensure the scope of work and schedule requirements is understood.
  15. Maintaining good relationships with the client and pursue resolution of technical or conflicting project requirements so a full understanding of the client’s requirements can be agreed.
  16. Giving technical support to the contract bid preparation.
  17. Assist other PMs/Senior PMs to ensure completion of different tasks.

You'll need to have:
  1. Time management and organisational skills.
  2. Strong influencing and people management skills.
  3. Track record in working in a regulated industry.
  4. CSCS.
  5. Nuclear and Defence experience preferable.
  6. A degree qualification in engineering or project management and a member of a relevant institute.
  7. Experience and knowledge in the administration of NEC contracts.
  8. Experience and knowledge working as Temporary Works Coordinator with CITB qualification.
  9. Digitally savvy, can build lasting client relationships and lead strong, motivated teams.
  10. Experience in the defence and nuclear sectors.
You’ll also have:
  1. Construction delivery experience, ideally in Nuclear/Defence projects.
  2. Temporary works background (co-ordinator role).
  3. Project or Site Manager with strong experience in temp works.
  4. Membership of MCIOB/MAPM/MRICS/MICE or equivalent demonstrable professional or personal development.
  5. Developing commercial and financial acumen.
  6. Experience leading parts of construction projects within large, diverse teams.
  7. Experience of building relationships with key stakeholders.
  8. Knowledge of how carbon and sustainability considerations will shape the outlook of the projects you are working on.
