Temporary HR Assistant
Immediate start - 3 Months
£16 - £16.50 per hour
9am - 5pm Monday to Friday
Hybrid: 1/2 days in office

Our client is looking for a credible HR Assistant to join their busy and friendly team and play a crucial role in delivering a generalist HR service, alongside other administrative tasks that assist the wider HR Team. Reporting to the Senior HR Business Partner, the successful candidate will provide a comprehensive and proactive administrative service, ensuring that operational procedures, systems and processes are coordinated and aligned with the team's aims and objectives. The successful candidate will assist in the smooth running of the HR function and ensure the HR Team's effectiveness and efficiency through first class administration and organisational support. Experience within the publishing sector would be preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Monitoring the HR inbox by being the first point of contact for queries from employees and managers
  • Responsible for the on-boarding process for new starters, including conducting first day inductions
  • Ensure all employee payroll changes are actioned via the HR system every month
  • Drafting and sending out contracts and letters for new starters and current employees
  • Completing IR35 checks and issuing freelancer contracts
  • Leading on the annual leave reset process
  • Responsible for ad hoc HR projects as and when required

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

  • Previous experience working in a similar HR role
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills, with an approachable and confident manner when dealing with people at all levels.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to quickly get to grips with new systems
  • An ability to prioritise your workload and work under pressure, managing expectations and interruptions will also be required for the success of this role.
  • Part/fully CIPD qualified is desirable but not essential.
