Temporary Accommodation Health and Safety Compliance Officer

The temporary accommodation health and safety compliance officer will lead the council's compliance processes to ensure the control, co-ordination and verification of compliance certification and to ensure the councils legal responsibility to health and safety are met.
The Role:
Oversee health and safety compliance for temporary accommodation, including fire risk, asbestos, energy performance, gas, electrical safety, and Legionella.
Ensure the Council's legal responsibilities regarding health and safety are met, incorporating any legislative changes into policies and procedures.
Perform inspections of temporary accommodation to ensure properties meet required standards and are fit for occupation.
Maintain accurate databases, ensuring the validity of compliance certificates and property data.
Produce regular reports for senior management, analyzing key performance indicators (KPIs) and highlighting compliance inconsistencies.
Work collaboratively with internal teams, landlords, accommodation providers, and other external stakeholders to improve service delivery and ensure compliance.
The Candidate:
Extensive knowledge of health and safety legislation, particularly in housing services and temporary accommodation.
Experience managing compliance in areas such as gas, electrical safety, fire risk, and energy efficiency.
Proven ability to manage large, complex compliance portfolios, including conducting audits, inspections, and maintaining accurate data records.
Strong communication skills with the ability to present reports and work effectively with a variety of stakeholders.
Experience in a similar compliance-focused role, particularly in a housing or accommodation environment.
