Job description

3-6 Month contract

We are looking for a TechOps Engineer that enjoys supervising and responding to support requests and will provide technical support. You thrive by working in a diverse and dynamic environment, have a consumer centric mentality, are a self-starter, and are a phenomenal teammate. You will have an appreciation of how technology services affect the business day to day, understanding business priorities and needs. You excel in driving local initiatives with internal and external parties. You balance handling project related tasks as well as technical tasks in collaboration with other technology teams for diverse solutions and renewed outcomes.

WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON:

  1. Daily activities will include handling day to day technology operations
  2. Team representation for projects in cooperation with our EMEA teams
  3. Ensure technology equipment stays in sync with the latest standards and manage technical debt
  4. Act as an initial technology point of escalation for the local business
  5. Assist in quality assurance reviews of service partners we engage with
  6. Communicating technology concepts and terminology to all individuals of all technical abilities so they have a clear understanding
  7. Ensure regular operation checks and activities are scheduled and completed
  8. Identify trends in support and service requests to improve services and response times
  9. Review open incidents & problems on a weekly basis in collaboration with the team
  10. Support office re-fits / upgrades and enhancements.

WHO WILL YOU WORK WITH:

You will report to the TechOps Manager for London. You will partner with other Agile Technology teams across different countries including our EMEA headquarters in The Netherlands. You will be working in a small team locally, but part of a larger EMEA team. You will work closely with local business functions to align technology plans and services in support of the business direction.

WHAT WILL YOU BRING

Qualifications

  1. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  2. Experience: 3-5 years of hands-on experience as an IT professional
  3. Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills in English
  4. Project Management: Familiar with project management principles and ITIL practices
  5. Agile Methodology: Experience with Agile practices and tools such as Jira
  6. Client Hardware & Software: Ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair client hardware (desktops, laptops, mobile devices, peripherals) and software/OS (Windows, MacOS, iOS). This includes retail technologies like POS devices, digital signage and A/V equipment
  7. OS Deployment: Confident in configuring and deploying Windows 10 and Mac OS devices
  8. Apple iOS Knowledge: Good understanding of Apple devices (iPads, iPods, iPhones)
  9. A/V Equipment: Comfortable with A/V setups and configurations, ensuring smooth operation of audio-visual equipment
  10. Networking & Servers: Working knowledge of network technologies (TCP/IP, wireless), server hardware, and physical connectivity including patch panels, cabling, and initial device setup
  11. Wireless AP Technologies: Experience troubleshooting and installing wireless access points (APs)
  12. PoE/Network-powered Devices: Understanding of PoE (Power over Ethernet) and network-powered devices like phones, and other A/V tech
  13. Enterprise Equipment: Confident in troubleshooting and installing enterprise network devices, including network switches, servers, routers, and UPS systems
  14. Third-party Collaboration: Ability to liaise with third-party contractors, escalate issues, and follow up to ensure timely resolution
  15. Work Style: Independent, structured, and proactive with strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  16. Teamwork: Team player who enjoys collaborating, sharing findings, and documenting ideas to share with other team members.
  17. Communication: Excellent communication skills, both in team settings and with external partners
