Job description

Are you a technologist with a background in home textiles?

Would you love to develop your technical skills in a fast-paced, customer driven company?

Do you want to collaborate with design teams to bring high-quality products to the market?

We're on the hunt for an experienced Technologist to cover maternity leave (around 12 months) who can work closely with internal teams and global suppliers to support technical excellence in home textiles.

About the role
  1. You'll have experience in the sealing process, from design concept to shipment
  2. Be able to manage product approvals and rejections, maintaining sample records
  3. Assist the design/sales teams with product development, knowing how to adjust specifications to fit retailer specific requirements
  4. Have a good understanding of textile qualities, being able to read and interpret fabric specs
  5. Used to completing risk assessments and applying corrective measures
  6. You won't mind working independently and being in the know about new product legislation affecting customers/suppliers
  7. A good knowledge of furniture and fire regulations - UKCA / CE and PPE
  8. Experience with REACH / ZDHC chemical compliance plus ETI Base code (ethical & technical auditing) for supplier compliance
  9. Confident in using Microsoft programs

About you
  1. You'll come from a strong background in home textiles, fabric technology or a related field
  2. Have great knowledge of fabric construction, finishing and testing procedures
  3. Very good attention to detail and problem-solving abilities
  4. Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work alongside internal teams and external suppliers
  5. Be able to interpret lab results and compliance regulations
