Job description

Do you come from a strong background in fabric technology?

Are you looking for a new role within home textiles where you can really bring your skills and experience to the table?

Due to a period of growth, we're looking for an experienced Technologist. You'll be responsible for ensuring all products meet the requirements, regulations, and sustainability goals of the business.

You'll work closely with the design, sales, and sustainability departments, liaising with UK and overseas QC teams to maintain high technical and quality standards while driving innovation.

About the role

  1. You'll create product specifications
  2. Set and maintain colour, fabric, seal, and testing standards with customers and suppliers
  3. Carry out risk analysis of new and existing products, mitigating risks and providing support where necessary
  4. Ensure standards comply with and exceed customer expectations
  5. Collaborate with the UK QC teams to identify stock for inspection, implementing an action plan according to results
  6. Work with UK customers, attending development and production meetings as and when required
  7. Assess and seal products at all stages, updating the critical path with technical information
  8. Monitor user trials and complete workbooks
  9. Be in the know and keep an eye on changes to textile regulations
  10. Drive sustainability of all products to meet company targets
  11. Review and analyse customer reviews online and visit stores to check products and benchmark against competition

About you

  1. You'll come with at least 3 years of strong experience in home textiles, fabric technology or a related field (as well as a relevant qualification in textiles)
  2. A good understanding of product development, risk analysis, and product quality management
  3. Experience working with retailers and global manufacturers
  4. Have a keen eye for detail, problem-solving, and process improvement
  5. Excellent communication and management skills
  6. Thrive working in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment
  7. Can influence others on quality, sustainability, and innovation
