Shift Technician - Dordon near Tamworth (Panama shifts including days / nights and weekends)

instrumental in keeping the cogs moving - literally, ensuring the continuous reliability

Reporting into the Engineering Team Manager, your role will be extremely

varied but as an example a Shift Technician can expect to:

  1. Maintaining and Optimising: Carrying out planned maintenance across the
    site in a timely and safe way. Making sure that all equipment is working safely
    and effectively daily.
  2. Troubleshooting and Repairing: Things inevitably break down and your role
    will involve diagnosing and resolving any equipment breakdowns efficiently,
    keeping our automated systems running smoothly and safely.
  3. Collaboration and Communication: As a Shift Technician you will work
    collaboratively across the engineering team to assist in developing further
    skills and sharing knowledge collectively.
  4. Continuous Improvement: Collaborate and work closely with other
    departments to find ways to increase machine reliability on existing and new
    equipment.
  5. Safety and Standards: It goes without saying that you will need to ensure all
    maintenance activities are conducted safely and to the highest standards,
    maintaining a clean and organised work environment.
  6. Team Development: Assisting in developing team skills and knowledge sharing to ensure we are all the best we can possibly be.

What We're Looking For:

  1. A strong technical background in either electrical and / or mechanical engineering, preferably within an FMCG environment
  2. A great team player with an ambition to succeed and learn from those around them.
  3. A natural problem solver, experienced with working with controls and analysing faults.
  4. We are looking for individuals who have a formal qualification in mechanical and / or electrical engineering (ie. NVQ Level 3 or equivalent)
  5. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the appetite to convey and share technical information and knowledge clearly.
  6. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  7. Self-motivation, consistency, and the ability to work at pace.
  8. Computer literacy is essential with the ability to use computerised systems to complete jam reports and to complete maintenance logs
  9. Physical fitness to safely perform engineering maintenance activities.
  10. Proficient English language skills for understanding safety information and technical manuals.
