We are looking to recruit for a TSS (TEST Support Section) Manager for our established and growing company in South Wales.
The role will be managing a small technical team; the Manager is responsible for the operation of the performance test facility onsite.
Duties:
Ensuring safe and efficient operation of the TSS test facilities within procedural and regulatory requirements.
Direct line management of staff including safety and effective work allocation.
Comprehensive understanding and correct application of relevant UK, EU and global test standards - including Ventilation Unit and Fan Performance, Noise, Thermal efficiency (e.g. heat exchangers and heat pumps), and Smoke Control.
Operation, calibration, and maintenance of Test equipment and TSS facility assets.
Management and output response of the Test Request system.
Collation, Assessment and Validation of test results.
Compilation of test results into useful technical data in the appropriate format.
Provision of detailed technical information relevant to product regulatory compliance.
Liaison with 3rd party test and research organisations.
Development of a programme of innovative technical research relating to core ventilation products.
Skills:
Degree level and practical expertise in the following:
Fluids, air movement and measurement
Acoustics - measurement and application related.
Laboratory Instrumentation and control systems.
Data processing and analysis (desktop tools and bespoke solutions).
Also, working knowledge of electrical power systems (motors and drives), thermofields, and mechanical design would be advantageous.
A working knowledge of product related testing - e.g. Electrical Safety, EMC is required.
Excellent presentation and communication skills are required as the role involves liaison with technical specialists within the business and the wider industry.
