Greenkeeping & Sportsturf Apprenticeship Assessor (1-Year Maternity Cover)

Salary: £36,000 - £39,000 per annum

Contract: 1-Year Maternity Cover

Location: Remote with travel across Berkshire

Benefits: 30 days annual leave + Bank Holidays Teachers Pension (28.68% employer contribution)

About the Role

Are you an experienced professional in Greenkeeping & Sportsturf looking to support the next generation of apprentices in the industry? We are seeking a dedicated Greenkeeping & Sportsturf Apprenticeship Assessor to oversee a caseload of apprentices, providing expert guidance and support throughout their learning journey. This is a fully remote position with occasional travel to a well-regarded land-based college in Berkshire. You will play a vital role in ensuring apprentices receive high-quality education and training, developing their skills and industry knowledge to succeed in their careers.

Key Responsibilities

1. Support and assess apprentices enrolled in Greenkeeping & Sportsturf Apprenticeship Programmes.
2. Provide tailored guidance to help apprentices progress effectively.
3. Conduct remote assessments, ensuring compliance with qualification requirements.
4. Maintain strong relationships with both apprentices and employers to facilitate a smooth learning experience.
5. Complete and maintain accurate assessment records in line with awarding body standards.
6. Occasionally travel to the college for key meetings and training.

What We're Looking For

1. Full UK driving licence and access to own transport.
2. At least 5 years in Greenkeeping, Sportsturf, or a related sector.
3. Level 2/Level 3 Greenkeeping/Sportsturf qualification.
4. Relevant Degree and/or vocational qualification (please state this in your application).
5. Strong communication skills with a passion for mentoring and developing others.
6. Experience in assessing apprenticeships or training delivery.
