The role & about the client:

ITS Building People are recruiting on behalf of a reputable main contractor for an experienced Technical Services Manager (M&E) to join their team in St Albans. This is a fantastic opportunity to join a company with a strong pipeline of commercial projects across London. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing all Mechanical & Electrical aspects of the construction process, ensuring quality delivery and compliance with technical and regulatory standards.

You will work closely with site teams, consultants, and subcontractors, playing a vital role in ensuring M&E services are coordinated and delivered in line with programme, budget, and design requirements.

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  1. Manage M&E packages from pre-construction through to completion
  2. Review technical submissions, drawings, and specifications
  3. Coordinate with subcontractors and oversee site installation works
  4. Ensure compliance with building regulations and health & safety standards
  5. Conduct regular site inspections and resolve technical issues
  6. Support value engineering and design development reviews
  7. Liaise with consultants, project managers, and clients to ensure smooth delivery

The ideal candidate will have/be:

  1. Proven experience in a similar M&E coordination or management role
  2. Background working with a main contractor or M&E subcontractor
  3. Sound knowledge of UK Building Regulations and M&E services integration
  4. Excellent communication and coordination skills
  5. Ability to manage technical details while maintaining overall project objectives
  6. Relevant qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or Building Services

Salary: £45,000 per annum
