About the Technical Services Manager job

The purpose of your role will be to lead technical compliance, uphold the highest food safety standards, and drive quality improvements across the business. You'll collaborate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers to ensure product safety and legality, maintaining excellence all year round.

Key tasks

1. Maintain and improve QMS (BRCGS, HACCP, SALSA), conduct internal audits, and ensure compliance for third-party certifications.
2. Ensure adherence to UK/EU food regulations, manage HACCP plans, and stay updated on industry standards.
3. Oversee technical specifications, ensure supplier compliance, and manage customer complaints with corrective actions.
4. Lead and train the technical team, drive quality enhancements, and implement improvement initiatives.

About You

1. The successful candidate shall have a Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, or related field, (or equivalent experience).
2. Extensive experience in a technical or quality management role within the food industry is highly beneficial.
3. A strong understanding of UK and EU food legislation and industry standards as well as proven experience managing audits, including BRCGS and retailer-specific standards.

The Technical Services Manager job (ref:8859) is paying up to £34,000 pro rata according to your experience. This is a 6 month contract covering maternity leave with the possibility of extending to 9 months.

The site is in Kirkcaldy, Fife and is commutable from Edinburgh, Dunfermline, Cowdenbeath, Glenrothes, Kirkcaldy and Cupar – Scotland.

The package includes Pension: 5% Employee contributions and 4% Employer contributions, 30 days holiday including bank holidays (pro-rated).

The working hours are Monday to Friday, 38.5 hours a week.
