Technical Security Consultant - A JOB IN THE NORTH OF ENGLAND!Salary - £60k - £75kWithin 1.5 hours of Leeds - Hybrid Role = Home/office and site as required.The consulting market has seen a shift away from the larger career-limiting consultancies towards the more boutique-size consultancies - such as my client. They've been enjoying sustained growth in a difficult market and they're in a position to take the business in directions that follow the current cyber threat landscape and provide a wrap-around service that will help protect their clients against those threats.
And that's exactly where you come in. You'll be joining as the key technical consultant to support and enhance their current service offering. This is a real chance for you to be the central figure as they look to build a successful technical arm to what's already a thriving business.

Typical Responsibilities of the Technical Security Consultant:- The bulk of the role will be to support on client delivery with the wider team, however, you'll be looking at the engagements through a technical lens - This will likely include assessing the technical security posture of a business in its current situation, and what steps they should take to be more secure and resilient based on the current cyber threat landscape. This could cover areas such as cloud security, network security, endpoint security and security architecture reviews and IT security audits. From advisory to hands-on.
- Working with the CTO, you'll support the review and development of the internal network, tooling and architectural initiatives.
- Along with the senior leadership, you'll consider how the technical services can be evolved and improved to enhance the service offering to the client.
- You'll manage the pen test service which is provided by a 3rd party, you'll agree scope, schedule, and report findings to the client in a language they'll understand.
Some of the Skills Required by the Technical Security Consultant- Network Security architecture/engineering.
- Cloud Security architecture/engineering.
- Infrastructure engineering/security.
- Vulnerability management.
- Endpoint security.
- IAM.
- Knowledge of security frameworks such as the ISO 27001 and NIST etc - However, remember that the technical side is the priority here.
- A current knowledge of the cyber threat landscape.
- Soft skills - A curious mind, a problem solver with great communication skills, both verbal and written with the ability to communicate tech issues to non-tech audiences in jargon-free language.
