Taylorollinson are supporting a global laboratory instrumentation company in their search for a Technical Sales Specialist. The role will be home office based and the successful Technical Sales Specialist will be out visiting laboratory and in-process customers 3 days a week. The successful candidate will be supporting a large territory so it is critical that the Technical Sales Specialist has excellent territory management skills. You will have experience of selling instrumentation in to labs and in-process environments and will have a strong technical background and will have studied chemistry (or related) to at least degree level (or have the equivalent hands-on lab experience). Our client is seeking a competency based sales person who enjoys a technical sales process; is experienced managing long sales cycles and has a previous experience selling in to scientific businesses across the territory.
Duties will include (but are not limited to):
Able to understand the client’s technical requirements and applications to match suitable products.
Disseminate technical features and benefits of the product range to the customer.
Give technical demonstrations alone or with colleagues' support.
Sell direct or work with distributors where appropriate.
Competitor awareness with relation to products, new innovations and clients’ needs.
Attend conferences/exhibitions as required.
Accurate forecasting and sales planning to manage pipeline of opportunities to achieve KPI’s and revenue targets.
About you:
Degree qualified in Chemistry (or related) or with equivalent hands-on chem lab experience.
Technical competency with lab instrumentation and willing to learn new product specifications.
Good communication skills and able to build solid relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Previous field sales experience selling lab instrumentation (or consumables/reagents/services).
