Job description

Managing embedded computing division fully remote in Midlands/North UK for an innovative engineering technology company renowned for solving challenging problems for blue-chip clients in the renewable energy, security, medical, transportation, aerospace and defence industries.

The Technical Sales Manager embedded computing job itself where you will be responsible for the business development of embedded products from technical design to commercial account management. Solutions focused, and proactive approach to understanding market requirements to identify new customers. More specifically:

  1. Developing and executing the business unit strategic sales objectives.
  2. Providing a consultative technical solution to meet the customer needs.
  3. Strategically position the company value proposition to key accounts.
  4. Develop customer relationships and manage accounts in target vertical markets.
  5. Negotiate various types of contracts.
  6. Preparation of proposals.
  7. Build and maintain long-term relationships with both new and existing customers.
  8. Build and maintain positive relationships with key suppliers.
  9. Maintain a good understanding of internal & franchised products and services and their possible applications and markets.
  10. Drive, guide and develop strategic customer accounts to achieve the annual Sales and GM and MBOs agreed with line manager.
  11. Regular business and strategy reviews with customers and suppliers.
  12. Generating quotations, following up on sales enquiries, closing orders and updating the CRM.
  13. Attending exhibitions to promote products and the brand.
  14. Progressing and updating customer orders with the internal team.
  15. Working with the wider field-sales teams to build effective working relationships, to promote cross-sell opportunities and drive a solution approach.
  16. Ensure that all activities/tasks are carried out in accordance with the Company Health and Safety Policy and the Quality / ISO system.

You will have

To be successful as Technical Sales Manager embedded computing, you will have a healthy mix of the following:

  1. Educated to degree level in an engineering discipline (such as electronics, computer, aerospace, telecom) or Commercial.
  2. Knowledge of embedded computing and display solutions.
  3. Ambitious, dynamic, and self-motivated individual with 5+ years relevant and transferable related key account management and new business development experience.
  4. Knowledge of the embedded computing and customers, with a successful track record of selling embedded computing platforms, Boards & Systems, Display / Monitor and Panel PC, Edge Computing, IoT and AI.
  5. Selling Products requiring design and manufacture.
  6. Selling cutting edge embedded systems such as embedded computing platforms, 19” racks, cabinets, rugged encloses and power supplies.
  7. Knowledge of customer base, markets, and applications.
  8. Demonstrable experience in building strong internal and external relationships.
  9. Experience supporting Field Sales Engineers in their primary role of developing new business, product specification and successfully closing opportunities.
  10. Experience in gathering market information to identify new customers.
  11. Computer literate; proficient in the use of Excel, Word & PowerPoint.
  12. Valid driving licence.
  13. UK passport holder due to MOD contracts.
