Technical Sales Manager Job – Bognor Regis, West Sussex

Salary: £50,000 - £65,000 + quarterly bonus scheme + progression opportunities + international travel + Free Lunch + Hybrid working

Technical Sales Manager job based in Bognor Regis, West Sussex for a fast growing company targeting the offshore wind, nuclear and oil & gas sectors. You will be joining a small and progressive team with ambitious growth plans in the next few years to treble in turnover. The role will be building relationships with consultancies, contractors, designers and engineers to ensure their products are specified at the design phase.

The company was established over 30 years and this specific part of the business for 7 years. The role will be managing sales pipelines to close for high value contract deals. Their average contract value being £250k. You will be proactive in developing their existing client base as well as generating new business in new target markets, using a consultative sales approach. You will be travelling to industry relevant events across the globe as well as hosting/attending webinars with industry contacts and attending client meetings. This is a great opportunity to join their fastest growing division of the company, targeting future-proof industries.

About the role:

  1. Grow existing accounts and building new business relationships
  2. Get a full understanding of the client’s requirements for their project/s and recommend the correct products to meet their objectives
  3. Manage multiple sales pipelines with long lead times to close
  4. Liaise with the in-house engineering team throughout the process
  5. Attend relevant industry networking events around the world
  6. Host and / or attend industry webinars
  7. Communicate via email, phone and face to face
  8. Work closely with marketing to develop and launch new products
  9. Industry research, keeping abreast of new and pipeline projects
  10. Record all sales activity using the CRM system
  11. Report on sales pipeline to Director level.

The ideal candidate:

  1. 3+ years’ experience as a technical sales manager, specification sales manager or sales engineer
  2. Ideally you will have either an engineering background or an engineering qualification
  3. Consultative and friendly sales approach
  4. Experienced in nurturing clients through long lead times to fruition
  5. Ideally experienced in high value sales (£100k +)
  6. Must have the flexibility to travel internationally
  7. Confident networker
  8. Proficient in Microsoft Office
  9. Experience selling to the offshore wind, nuclear or oil gas sectors would be advantageous.
