Business Development Engineer
  • Annual Salary: From £35,000, dependent on skills & experience
  • Job Type: Full-time

Join a leading Contract Electronics Manufacturer as a Business Development Engineer. With over 40 years of excellence, the company is dedicated to turning product ideas into reality, ensuring customer success through on-time delivery of PCBAs, final assemblies, and full turnkey box-build solutions. This role is integral to driving growth across three UK factories in Windsor, Haddenham, and Basildon through effective lead generation, opportunity creation, and contract negotiation.

Day-to-day of the role:
  • Assist in generating leads using all available tools and professional networks.
  • Support the team in securing meetings and visits with prospective customers.
  • Follow up on enquiries and opportunities, helping to produce proposals, quotations, and contracts.
  • Develop strong working connections with Engineering, Operations, and Commercial teams across our factories, facilitating prospective customer visits.
  • Work closely with factory NPI teams to ensure smooth integration of new customers into the business.
  • Accurately record data, activities, and information into our CRM systems.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Understanding of Contract Manufacturing demands, including electro-mechanical assembly, PCBA manufacturing, prototyping, test development, and component sourcing.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of presenting and producing written material.
  • Ability to interpret complex technical data into practical requirements and actions.
  • Proficient in presenting company data to senior stakeholders and business owners of potential customers.
  • Demonstrated resilience and agility to overcome business development hurdles.
  • Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure, meeting tight deadlines.
  • Willingness to work collaboratively across all internal departments to share customer insights and update on development timelines.
  • Eagerness to learn and develop both sales techniques and technical knowledge.
