Job description

Your Scope

Main Purpose
To manage the day-to-day function of the technical department, ensuring products are manufactured to food safety standards, in a food safe environment that complies with the relevant legislation, standards and customer expectations. To be customer facing and being a point of contact for key accounts to help manage the technical demands from our customers and contribute to the growth of the business.

Team Development - ensure the technical team is coached and developed to have the range of right skills and experience to meet the needs of the business this may require departmental re-structuring to meet requirements of the business.

Management of Non-Conformances & Customer Complaints - ensure finished product quality and safety are maintained and out of specification product is not released to the customer.

Integrated Pest Management System - maintain and review an integrated pest management system to ensure that the business can demonstrate its compliance.

Management of Customers - managing key accounts through the relevant technical contacts to cover audits queries and new specifications as well as being a key driver for new business onboarding.

QMS System - maintain and review QMS system to ensure that the department operates efficiently, and the business can demonstrate its compliance.

Food Safety Culture - to create an environment where following technical policies, processes and procedures is easy and common place.

Cost Control - to effectively manage set budget ensuring that the costs are not negatively impacting the Company budget as well as managing stock provisions and products for re-work.

Your profile

  • A degree in Food Science, Food Technology, Microbiology, or a related field.
  • Relevant industry certifications, such as:
  • HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points)
  • Food Safety Level 3 or 4
  • 5+ years of experience in food manufacturing, quality assurance, or technical management.
  • Proven track record of managing audits, supplier approvals, and food safety compliance.
  • Knowledge of product development, food safety legislation, and quality control processes.
