Technical Project Manager

Working with a fantastic business in Birmingham in their search for a Technical Project Manager to join them on a permanent basis to lead on Infrastructure, Networking or IT Security projects. 3 days a week on site paying up to £65,000 + bonus and great benefits.

The role
As a Technical Project Manager in our dynamic IT team, you will manage and deliver predominantly technical/infrastructure projects within time and cost constraints. The Technical Project Manager will be responsible for:

1. Liaising between business stakeholders, IT Team members, 3rd party suppliers, clients, and others as required to deliver IT projects for the business and/or its clients.
2. Ownership of work breakdown structure, production of estimates, project plans, technical plans and requirements, finances, risk & contingency, scope management, and change control.
3. Preparation of project management products (PID, status reports, change control notes, Business Case, BRS, Test, and other key documentation).
4. Clearly articulating business requirements, business processes, delivery plans, and the benefits cases for programmes of work.
5. Communicating in language that is appropriate to the audience.
6. Identifying, contracting with, and managing 3rd parties to deliver solutions as necessary.
7. Ensuring projects create all necessary documentation to enable the IT Service team to fully support the solution after the project has concluded.
8. Supporting the wider IT team at times with tasks that might be outside of the core role description.
9. Being aware of and complying with the company's policies and procedures.

The person
This opportunity would ideally suit an individual from a professional services background with experience of working with IT networking, Infrastructure, and/or security teams. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

1. Excellent problem analysis, system design, troubleshooting, and resolution skills.
2. Project planning, estimation, requirements gathering, and business case writing.
3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
4. Demonstrable experience in delivering end-to-end Infrastructure, Networking, or IT Security projects.
5. Requirements gathering.
6. Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to stakeholders of varying degrees of technical understanding.
