Technical Product Owner

This role is a permanent position.
Clearance: DV preferred/SC accepted – must be willing/eligible for DV
Location: 4 days a month on site, consecutive days across the UK so you will be away from home 4 days a month. Expenses will be paid.
What We’re Looking For
- 5–7 years’ experience in a Product Owner, Product Manager, or similar role.
- Proven ability to manage multiple products or delivery teams simultaneously.
- Strong experience working in Agile environments (Scrum, Kanban, or similar).
- Demonstrated ability to turn high-level business objectives into detailed product requirements.
- Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills.
- Comfortable operating at both a strategic and tactical level.
- Technically literate – able to collaborate closely with engineering teams and understand technical constraints.
- Analytical mindset with a focus on delivering measurable outcomes.
- Experience with modern product and project management tools (e.g. Jira, Confluence, Miro, Figma, etc.).
- A background as a business analysis would be very desirable.
- Defence experience would be desirable.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage multiple product backlogs across different software delivery streams.
- Work closely with the CPO to translate strategic goals into actionable product plans.
- Define and communicate product requirements through epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
- Prioritise work based on business value, customer needs, and technical constraints.
- Collaborate daily with cross-functional delivery teams, including engineering, design, and QA, to ensure smooth and timely execution.
- Facilitate sprint planning, backlog grooming, and product increment reviews.
- Maintain a strong pulse on user feedback, analytics, and market trends to inform product decisions.
- Proactively identify risks, blockers, and dependencies across workstreams.
- Ensure transparency of priorities, progress, and decisions with stakeholders at all levels.
- Champion Agile best practices and contribute to continuous improvement in product delivery.
