Technical operator

AM2PM are currently recruiting a technical operator on behalf of our client based in the Runcorn area.

They will support the delivery of operational KPIs (Productivity, Quality, Safety, Health and Environment, Cost, Delivery, Morale and Innovation (PQSCDMI)). Working within an autonomous team, the Technical Operator will drive excellent standards of production delivery and continuous improvement, whilst always protecting a safe and sustainable environment.

The ideal candidate will have a basic understanding of key cost drivers in the Sourcing Unit and will grow this in line with their wider project management skills.
Utilities only: Responsible for specific operational duties i.e. Effluent plant / site compliance & CHP plant.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Achievement of 3+1 targets.
2. Technical: Knowledge and application of technical skills to Operate, Maintain, Improve and Repair (OMIR) equipment. This allows production targets to be met safely, at the right level of quality and on time.
   1. Understand the principles of mechanism and motion and be able to conduct changeovers, basic repairs and adjustments (e.g. Cams, slides, bearings, belts and pulleys). Utilise appropriate lubrication regimes.
   2. Understanding of principles and application of pneumatics in the sourcing unit; able to conduct fault finding and basic repair.
   3. Conduct basic electrical tasks within the Sourcing Unit (e.g. Lock Out/Tag Out, Isolation Procedures, Fault Location on a Common Control System and Testing and Verification of Common Proximity Sensors).
3. Safety: Utilise appropriate safety and environmental procedures for people, processes, materials, products and equipment to ensure a safe working environment for the whole team.
4. Environment: Reduce costs due to waste and minimise impact to health, safety and the environment through working to eliminate waste and through the correct management of waste and hazardous materials.
5. Quality: Ensure that all aspects of Quality within the area of responsibility are in accordance with local Quality procedures to protect and promote the brand and product.
6. Leadership: Promote the development of a highly effective and autonomous team through strong communication, leading by example and conflict management, whilst keeping focused on goals and targets.
7. Coaching: Champion specific skills within the autonomous team and coach them to others in order to drive excellence.
