Job Title: Technical Operator
Location: Cambridge / Travel Required
Salary: To GBP33,735
Hours: 40 hours per week

Are you an experienced Treatment Plant Technical Operator searching for a new and rewarding challenge? Or do you have a solid background in industrial plant maintenance and are eager to dive into the fascinating world of water treatment? If your answer is yes, they have the perfect role for you!

They deliver clean and reliable water supplies to around 1.7 million customers within the South Staffs and Cambridge regions. As a water-only Company, providing clean, healthy water 24 hours a day, 365 days a year is at the very heart of what they do and that’s where you come in.


The Role:

As a Technical Operator, you will work closely with a range of internal and external contacts on a daily basis. You will be responsible for maintaining the control and operation of strategic source water sites and will be required to manage your time effectively to complete a demanding schedule of plant maintenance activities.


As a Technical Operator, you will:
  1. Conduct basic electrical tasks.
  2. Possess the knowledge and practical application of technical skills to operate, maintain, improve, and repair equipment.
  3. Maintain control and oversee the operation of strategic source water sites.
  4. Effectively manage your time to complete a demanding schedule of plant maintenance activities.
  5. Demonstrate an understanding of the principles of site design and operation.
  6. Utilise appropriate safety and environmental procedures for people, processes, materials, products, and equipment to ensure a safe working environment for the entire team.
  7. Ensure that all aspects of quality within the area of responsibility adhere to local quality procedures.
  8. Attend to site and equipment breakdowns to safely restore plant supply.

What You'll Need:
  1. An electrical background in the utilities or similar industry is essential to the role; a Water industry background is desirable.
  2. Computer literate (Excel, Word, Outlook)
  3. Full driving licence
  4. Health and safety are a priority for all members of the production team. You will have experience of reviewing risk assessments and are always confident to challenge and enforce safe working practices.

Essential training will be provided which will help you gain the confidence within the operational area.
