We are looking for a Technical Manager to join the team at Clinical Health Technologies Ltd. Reporting to the Managing Director, the successful candidate will lead on the provision of scientific and technical expertise within the Company, particularly in relation to the Company’s flagship hypochlorous products. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing research and development, clinical trials, as well as delivering technical training on existing and new products, i.e., cosmetic products. The successful candidate will work externally to present high-quality technical and scientific information to clients, as well as collaborating internally to provide scientific and technical guidance to production and sales, and ensuring regulatory compliance.

Key Accountabilities:

Products

  1. Provide scientific expertise on the technologies and design of Company products, particularly hypochlorous technology.
  2. Manage new product introduction procedures, reviewing and supporting new product applications and positioning.
  3. Manage research, testing, and data required, including for new product launches.

Technical & Regulatory

  1. Use technical knowledge and capabilities to lead research and development, particularly understanding relevant regulations both in the UK and internationally (including biocide, FDA, cosmetic, medicinal products, EU and UK medical device regulation/CE/UKCA marking).
  2. Manage clinical trials and data analysis in line with the Company’s technical strategy as approved by the Managing Director.
  3. In conjunction with the Quality & Regulatory Manager, support regulatory compliance for all CHT products, ensuring test data is complete and up-to-date for all technical files.
  4. Complete and issue technical documents/reports as required by customers (e.g., certificates, cosmetic formulation queries, and supplier questionnaires).
  5. Liaise with suppliers regarding product specification, efficacy, safety, applications, and supporting evidence such as peer-reviewed papers.
  6. Analyse test reports and data to present to the Managing Director and wider audiences.

Communications

  1. Support the sales and marketing teams with product development and the preparation and presentation of technical data, sales and marketing materials, and labelling design.
  2. Support meetings with external scientists, medics, and technical experts, including preparing and delivering high-quality, engaging presentations to technical, medical, and scientific audiences.
  3. Provide technical advice and support to internal teams, responding to enquiries effectively and in a timely manner, as well as delivering technical training sessions to internal staff as necessary.

Science

  1. Liaise with test labs and academic establishments and commissioning of all test and trial data, including EN standards, spectroscopy analysis, or proof of concept evidence.
  2. Maintain knowledge and library of peer-reviewed papers, journals, and academic evidence relating to our products.

Person Specification:

Experience

  1. Proven experience providing scientific and technical advice, either as a Technical Manager or in a similar role.
  2. Background in chemistry, microbiology, or other medical or clinical role.
  3. Regulatory experience is desirable.
  4. Cosmetic formulation experience or knowledge would be beneficial.

Skills & Abilities

  1. Proficiency in using MS Office applications and excellent IT skills.
  2. Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.
  3. Excellent organisational skills.
  4. First-class oral and written communicator.
  5. Dynamic and proactive.
  6. Adaptable and a quick learner.
  7. Ability to learn about the technical aspects of our products and production capabilities.

Knowledge

  1. Knowledge and understanding of cosmetic and/or healthcare markets, practices, and settings.
  2. Knowledge of the life sciences sector or proven ability to communicate scientific and technical information.
  3. Degree level qualification, or equivalent, in biochemistry or similar field.
  4. Masters, PhD, or research experience preferred.
  5. Knowledge of hypochlorous technology would be an advantage.

  • Depending on experience (DOE).
