Technical Manager

The post holder will work as an integral part of the site leadership team with accountability for providing strong technical leadership within the designated factory. They will be responsible for ensuring that excellent technical standards are in place, driving the highest standards of animal welfare, food safety, product quality, technical integrity, and customer satisfaction. They will identify, evaluate, and lead the implementation of new technologies, providing effective communication to the operations teams and driving continuous improvement through engagement with NPD and operational excellence functions.

Essential Skills

• 3rd level qualification in relevant discipline, or equivalent
• Quality management experience at a factory leadership team level
• Experience in the food industry
• Experience with major multiple retailers
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, negotiation, and organisational skills
• Team leadership qualities
• Adaptable team player
• Initiative, self-motivation, organisation, and assertiveness
• Logical approach, excellent problem-solving, and decision-making skills
• Working knowledge of BRC standard, HACCP, Policies/Codes of Practice for some of the major UK retailers, Food Legislation, and Food Hygiene
• Excellent communicator (written and verbal) with a visible passion and enthusiasm for achieving targets, objectives, and continuous improvement in a cross-functional team environment
• Good understanding of the commercial and customer dynamics and the inherent complexity of supply across Private Label, Brand, and distribution channels
