In this role as a Dev-Ops Technical Lead, you’ll bring strong technical knowledge of infrastructure as code and CICD and Dev-Ops best practices, take ownership of system configuration, and ensure optimal service delivery.

You’ll guide a skilled team, drive continuous improvements, and work closely with stakeholders like customers and third-party partners to influence decisions that maintain system stability and improve user experience.

This role requires the successful applicant to undergo UK security vetting clearance (or a willingness to apply).

Office based on site in Gloucester.

What you will be doing:

  • Understand and own the technical configuration and detail of the system and its interfaces and be able to capture and maintain appropriate documentation to describe it.
  • Develop and maintain strong customer and third-party/partner relationships and be able to influence decision making and prioritisation.
  • Work in a disciplined and structured manner in accordance with Dev-Ops, Agile and ITIL best practices and standards.
  • Guide the team with the investigation, triage & allocation or actioning of incidents/changes & stories ensuring they are dealt with effectively and promptly making the best use of available resources.
  • Guide the team to proactively monitor and maintain system health to ensure the highest level of service is continually maintained.
  • Oversee any deployment issues, fault finding and resolving any hardware, software or networking issues that may arise.
  • Maintain a strong focus on system reliability and availability.

What you will bring:

  • Able to impact assess new features and operational improvements, and influence key stakeholders to ensure system stability and relevance.
  • Strong understanding and ability to apply and guide application of the Dev Ops Lifecycle and its phases, CI/CD, Automation, Containerisation, On-Prem & Cloud Platforms.
  • Understanding of Linux (Red Hat preferred), Ansible, Terraform, Kubernetes, Argo CD, AWS, Elastic.
  • Ability to identify, develop and deploy improvements and new features as appropriate.
  • Understanding of computer networks, routing, firewalls & proxies.
  • Understanding of antimalware agents, and IDPS concepts.
  • Mentoring, leadership, support and development of team.
  • Identification of process and governance improvements and application of them.
  • Experience in a delivery role – able and willing to be hands on.
