We are working with a successful client in the gaming industry who is seeking a Delivery professional to lead IT and technical delivery across their core technology team. You will be overseeing the delivery across cross-functional teams, including IT, Cyber, Engine, and game development teams.
This role focuses on enhancing technical delivery and operation strategy, ensuring impactful outcomes for the business, customers, and players.
About the Role:
As the Delivery Director within Core Tech, you will work alongside senior leadership to improve delivery processes across technology and game development teams. This role requires close collaboration with delivery partners, team managers, and studio leaders to establish seamless delivery systems, forecast project timelines, and enhance operational execution within the division. Your efforts will guide the strategic direction of production for Core Tech, spanning critical areas such as software engineering, IT, and cybersecurity.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development and execution of operational strategy for the Core Tech team.
- Establish effective work systems across the business unit, coordinating multi-team efforts and ensuring seamless reporting and communication.
- Implement accountability processes where teams plan, review, and track their commitments while learning from successes and failures.
- Diagnose and resolve delivery issues efficiently, ensuring timely solutions.
- Keep internal stakeholders informed on project commitments and delivery progress.
- Align Core Tech’s capabilities with strategic objectives to effectively plan for current and future projects.
- Drive leadership discussions around team growth, workforce allocation, and hiring projections.
- Manage conflicts within and between teams, promoting psychological safety, constructive feedback, and healthy conflict resolution.
- Work with Core Tech leadership to empower teams and foster autonomy within the group.
- Collaborate with senior production leaders to introduce cutting-edge delivery practices based on Lean, Agile, and Systems Thinking methodologies.
- Establish and monitor KPIs for Core Tech, ensuring alignment with studio-wide best practices and providing regular updates to senior leadership.
- Balance hands-on delivery work with strategic leadership, driving transformative changes at the Core Tech leadership level.
- Manage the department’s P&L, ensuring correct allocation of operational expenditure.
- Provide line management for Delivery Leads, offering pastoral care, career development, and performance management, while mentoring junior production personnel to enhance their skills and capabilities.
What We're Looking For:
- An interest in the gaming industry and the technology that drives it.
- Currently in a Technical Delivery Management role or similar (Head of Product and Project Delivery, Delivery Manager or Head of Delivery type positions) in a B2C environment.
- Must have experience overseeing developers in a B2C-focused environment.
- Experience overseeing both development and IT projects.
- Experience ideally within Gaming, entertainment, streaming or a B2C product-focused tech/software environment.
- Extensive experience leading hands-on delivery using Agile, Lean, and/or Systems Thinking methodologies.
- Proven track record managing complex deliveries across multiple cross-functional teams, i.e., cybersecurity, core tech, IT, development.
- Deep understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle and a history of successful collaboration.
- Experience influencing senior stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes for the business and the Core Tech team.
- Experience working in scaled delivery environments and with distributed teams.
- A focus on value-driven outcomes rather than project metrics.
- Willingness to travel internationally on occasion.

This role is a 12-month FTC, and looking for someone to start as soon as possible. This role is mostly remote, with occasional visits a couple of times per month to the Cambridge office.
