Role: Technical Coordinator

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Technical Coordinator to join a leading main residential developer in Leicester reporting to the Senior Technical Manager and Technical Director.

The primary purpose of the Technical Coordinator is to work in the busy Technical Department. You will be an integral part of the Technical team overseeing external Design and Engineering Consultants involved in the project management and administration of all technical and design matters for various residential projects.

This role is to support a number of housing developments through the delivery of cost effective engineering solutions and provide a service to all other departments within the business. The successful candidate must be adaptable, have a strong and consistent management approach to managing external consultants.

As a Technical Coordinator, some of your key duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in the production of layouts and technical reports for Land Appraisals; and have an understanding of working drawings.
  • Brief and commission site investigations, topographical survey and other assessment reports on land acquired.
  • Brief engineering and architectural consultants on scope of design, which includes roads, sewers, private drainage, retaining walls, foundation designs, and any other substructures below DPC level either private or adopted.
  • Initial negotiations/enquiries with statutory bodies and utility undertakers on environmental, drainage, highways and other engineering issues when appraising land.
  • Issue engineering information to Commercial, Construction and Sales departments.
  • Fee negotiation and appointment of consultants.
  • Comply with responsibilities as laid down in the Group's Health, Safety and Environment Policy.


Technical Coordinators considering applying will need the following experience:

  • By way of technical experience, you will have understandings of current building regulations and CDM; you will also have knowledge of current EA/Water Authority/Highway regulations and adoption agreements.
  • Must have a good understanding of AutoCAD and be able to communicate effectively with both internal departments and external bodies.
  • You must be an enthusiastic and hardworking individual who is willing to undertake all necessary training and be able to work on your own initiative and fit well within the team and business.
