Job description

Are you an experienced technical professional seeking the next step in your career? This is an exciting opportunity to join the technical team of a nationally recognised 5-star housebuilder for supplying high-quality homes for all generations. This business has been building homes for over 65 years and possesses a great proven pathway for internal progression and exceptional training to help you further develop in your career.


Reporting to the Technical Manager or Design Manager, you will ensure that the Technical team is fully resourced and well-directed, with clear guidelines to their own job responsibilities, and are provided with full support in achieving these, in terms of communication, training and development, and the organisation of the department's workload.


Responsibilities of Technical Coordinator

  1. Production of engineering site feasibilities as instructed by the land department, with liaison with heads of department & outside authorities and agencies to ensure compliance with the required standards and business needs.
  2. Establish good working relationships with Site staff and Department Heads to ensure schemes are constructed as intended and to encourage feedback for inclusion in future schemes to avoid wastage and improve the engineered solutions.
  3. Comply with responsibilities as defined in the Group's Health, Safety & Environment Policy and ensure compliance throughout the team.
  4. Implement new ideas and methods and continue to seek ways of both improving contribution to the organisation's goals and enhancing the reputation of the company.
  5. Develop good working relationships with Local Authorities and ensure knowledge of the peculiarities of the Local Authorities, and knowledge of the many techniques applicable to the Housing Industry to ensure easy approvals and fast, marketable, economic house building.

Requirements for the Technical Coordinator

  1. Individual who is qualified as a Civil/Building Engineer or at a Construction related degree level or HNC/HND in a built environment subject with relevant experience.
  2. Good technical knowledge of both house and flat construction, together with a degree of flair for design.
  3. A working knowledge of Building Regulations, NHBC, Party Wall Awards and associated legislation connected with the construction industry.
  4. The ability to get on with people together with communication, meeting and management skills essential in dealing with multi-disciplined teams.
  5. The ability to recognise problems and deal with them in a speedy and effective manner.
