Job description

A new opportunity within a business that has a great culture, team, products, and is well known for their high standards in food safety, quality, and service!


Working in a small team, your role will be supporting the Technical Manager in maintaining and enhancing technical compliance across suppliers, customers, products, and internal systems, ensuring adherence to food safety and ethical standards.


Key duties will include:
  1. Provide technical support to suppliers, customers, and the commercial teams.
  2. Maintain and update accurate technical specifications, ensuring compliance with industry standards.
  3. Support and ensure initial and continued supplier approval.
  4. Monitor and report on food safety alerts.
  5. Conduct traceability tests as required.
  6. Manage customer complaints and non-conformances by investigating root causes, ensuring suitable corrective and preventive actions, and following up for closure.
  7. Assist with maintaining JCD's Quality Management System (QMS), BRCGS & Soil Association Organic documentation and audits.
  8. Ensure adherence to food safety, authenticity, and regulatory requirements.
  9. Support internal training initiatives and contribute to process improvements.

What you'll need:
  1. Degree in Food Science (desirable).
  2. Industry qualifications such as legal food labelling, UK/EU standard, HACCP Level 3 would be ideal.
  3. Experience in a technical or quality assurance role within the food industry.
  4. Good knowledge of BRC, HACCP, and food safety regulations.
  5. Experience in managing audits, non-conformances, and compliance documentation.
  6. Proactive, problem-solving mindset with attention to detail.
