Job Title: Technical Buyer

Industry: Chemical

Location: Trafford Park or Huddersfield (option to work from either site)

Salary: £38,000-£45,000 per annum

Type: Permanent

As my client continues to expand, they are looking for a skilled and driven Technical Buyer to join their dynamic team.

If you have experience in sourcing, purchasing, and technical evaluation within the chemical sector, this is an exciting opportunity for you to contribute to their growth and success.

The Role:
  1. Manage and oversee the procurement of technical materials and chemicals, ensuring timely and cost-effective acquisition.
  2. Oversee the entire procurement process from sourcing and selection to contract negotiations and supplier management.
  3. Establish and preserve strong working connections with key suppliers.
  4. Ensure materials sourced comply with technical specifications and regulatory requirements.
  5. Create backup plans, alternate sourcing techniques, and supply chain resilience into action.
  6. Maintain a network of pertinent supplier contacts through trade exhibitions and suitable travel, and regularly benchmark to guarantee cost competitiveness.
  7. Create and preserve effective channels of communication with other departments and take an active part in projects that call for the sourcing of new chemicals.
  8. Collaborate with operational and supply chain functions to guarantee that lead times, ordering trends, and stock levels are all managed in accordance with operational requirements.
