Our client is seeking a highly skilled Technical Author (Audit) to join their dynamic team in Birmingham. This role offers an attractive salary range of £55,000 to £62,000 and the opportunity to work within a leading global organisation. The successful candidate will be part of the new Technology, Data and Innovation (TDI) Operations Management (OM) central audit governance team, collaborating with ITIL service management SMEs to create robust audit-related documentation. This role is perfect for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and has a knack for producing high-quality documentation that stands up to internal risk management scrutiny.

  • Competitive salary and non-contributory pension
  • Hybrid working model allowing flexibility
  • Opportunity to support a wide-ranging CSR programme

What you'll do:
As a Technical Author (Audit), you will play a crucial role in creating robust audit-related documentation that supports the timely closure of internal and external regulatory findings. You will use your advanced documentation skills to articulate and evidence completed work, satisfying internal risk management scrutiny and demonstrating to auditors that findings have been remediated. Your responsibilities will include determining the full list of artifacts required, tracking their production, scrutinising their quality, and owning the entire documentation process. Additionally, you will contribute to establishing and improving the framework for managing audit activities.

  • Collaborate with IT service management process owners and SMEs to create robust documentation.
  • Determine the list of artifacts required to evidence the remediation of audit findings.
  • Track the production of supporting artifacts and drive others to meet planned deadlines.
  • Scrutinise supporting artifacts to ensure they are of appropriate quality.
  • Own the production of documentation throughout its lifecycle.
  • Help establish and continually improve the framework for managing audit activities.

What you bring:
The ideal candidate for this Technical Author (Audit) position brings a wealth of experience in writing formal process documentation for IT functions that can withstand audit scrutiny. You possess an objective eye for scrutinising documentation, identifying shortcomings, gaps, anomalies, and potential risk exposure. Your ability to quickly understand new technical information allows you to produce documents that effectively communicate with audiences unfamiliar with the subject matter. Your interpersonal skills enable you to build relationships, collaborate, and influence results in a fast-moving global environment. Furthermore, your project management skills allow you to manage small projects efficiently while meeting tight deadlines.

  • Experience writing formal process documentation for IT functions.
  • Ability to scrutinise documentation objectively and identify potential risks.
  • Quick understanding of new technical information and concepts.
  • Ability to build relationships, collaborate, and influence in a diverse global environment.
  • Project management skills with ability to work under pressing deadlines.
  • Basic understanding of risk frameworks and banking regulations.
