Technical Author (Full-Time / Part-Time / Consultant)
Location: Thatcham, Berkshire, UK

We are seeking a talented and self-motivated Technical Author to join one of the UK's leading broadcast technology companies. This is a dynamic role combining technical writing and support, where you'll create clear, engaging documentation for cutting-edge software and firmware-based products in the professional broadcast TV industry.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Create and maintain user manuals, installation guides, and technical support docs
2. Collaborate with R&D, product management, and engineering teams
3. Ensure high-quality, user-friendly content aligned with company standards
4. Support agile development and participate in testing/documentation validation
5. Continuously improve documentation processes and tools

About You:

1. 5+ years of technical authoring experience (MadCap Flare preferred)
2. Strong communicator with excellent writing skills
3. Able to simplify complex technical content
4. Organised, detail-oriented, and adaptable to changing priorities
5. Experience in broadcast/media tech and familiarity with standards like SDI, SMPTE 2110, IP & Networking is a plus

Desirable Skills:

1. Microsoft Visio, Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator
2. Understanding of video, audio, ANC, and broadcast systems
