Job Description:

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Food Technical/Ops Assistant to support the Food Technical team and manage client portals. You will handle food compliance tasks, product specifications, and assist in maintaining high standards of food safety and hygiene.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with Food Technical queries from clients and the sales team.
  2. Create and manage product specifications using manufacturers' data.
  3. Ensure food labelling compliance with The General Food Regulations 2004, approving artwork for printing.
  4. Administer and manage client portals for allergen and nutritional information.
  5. Update and amend the Allergen & Product Information Matrix.
  6. Provide support with BRC Food Safety tasks when necessary.
  7. Assist with the New Product Development (NPD) process and supplier approval checklist administration.
  8. Participate in factory hygiene inspections and help prepare for third-party and customer audits.
  9. Support other operational duties as required.
Person Specification:
  1. Maths and English GCSE (grade C or above) or equivalent.
  2. Strong communication skills.
  3. Excellent time management abilities.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
  5. Food safety or technical experience/knowledge is required from a previous role.
  6. Self-motivated and tenacious with a positive attitude.
  7. Exceptional attention to detail.
