ROLE: Technical Assessor – Hazardous Waste Management

CLIENT: Our client is a leading name in the hazardous waste management sector, operating an advanced treatment facility to deliver specialized services to a diverse range of clients. They are currently seeking a desk-based Technical Assessor to join their thriving team.

RELEVANT PREVIOUS ROLES: Site Chemist, Process Chemist, Technical Assessor, Transfer Station Chemist, Laboratory Technician, Shift Chemist, Hazardous Waste Assessor, Graduate

ROLE: Technical Assessor
In this role, you will:

1. Apply your Chemistry expertise to evaluate incoming waste streams using data provided by the sales team.
2. Ensure accurate classification of waste and determine the correct disposal costs, requiring essential knowledge of WM3 codes.
3. Focus on desk-based analysis, relying on your theoretical Chemistry knowledge rather than hands-on laboratory work.
4. Communicate with clients to understand their requirements and provide tailored solutions.

EXPERIENCE & REQUIREMENTS: Technical Assessor – Hazardous Waste Management
We are looking for candidates with:

1. Strong verbal and written communication skills, along with proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
2. Ideally, experience in direct client interaction.
3. A minimum of an HNC in Chemistry (or higher). Related fields like Biology or Forensics may be considered if sufficient Chemistry modules were completed at a higher level than HNC.
4. At least 1 year of experience in heavy industry or hazardous waste management.
5. Familiarity with relevant industries such as soil treatment or hazardous waste (e.g., drummed, bulky, chemical, radioactive, acids, solvents, nuclear, toxic, oily rags, paints, liquids, sludge, flammable).
