  3. Provide leadership and support to social workers, ensuring appropriate decision-making and supervision.
  4. Implement council policies related to HR issues, including equalities and health & safety.
  5. Optimise team performance through regular supervision, coaching, and appraisal.
  6. Oversee recruitment, retention, and professional development of staff and carers.
  7. Manage team budget, ensuring effective allocation and utilisation of resources.
  8. Collaborate with partner agencies to safeguard children and improve their life chances.
  9. Monitor service delivery and make improvements based on feedback and best practices.
  10. Chair meetings related to child protection and legal planning, ensuring strategic direction is maintained.

Qualifications - Essential and Evidenced:

  1. Registered as a social worker with Social Work England.
  2. Social Work qualification (e.g., Social Work Degree or Diploma in Social Work).
  3. Achieved or commitment to study for a specialist Post-Qualifying (PQ) award or equivalent.
  4. Minimum of 5 years' post-qualifying experience as a social worker.
