Team Leader - Grounds Maintenance | Surrey Schools

Fixed Term Contract / 40 hours a week

Based at our Guildford Depot

Glendale has recently extended its long-term agreement with schools, academies, and colleges across Surrey. We now have long-term employment opportunities for experienced and trainee staff to join our UK-based, privately owned, market-leading green services provider.

Candidates will be required to work 40 hours per week. Overtime is available throughout the year to meet client requirements. Glendale offers valuable career prospects and believes in investing in its employees.

A Glimpse into the Role Awaiting You

1. Assisting the Contract Manager and Supervisor in the effective management of the programmed maintenance
2. Proactively leading by example with grounds maintenance work
3. Support and guidance of the service delivery team e.g. grounds maintenance operatives
4. Duties include grass cutting, line marking, hedge trimming, clearing leaves, shrub bed maintenance and litter as required.
5. The successful applicant may be required to drive/tow a trailer on occasion and following suitable training, you may be required to operate a tractor or larger mowing equipment, therefore, a UK driving licence is required for this post. Previous experience and relevant tickets are desirable, but full training and career development will be provided.
6. Candidates will also use a range of other tools and perform some machinery maintenance
7. Completing necessary daily check sheets and paperwork involved with the smooth running of operations
8. DBS will need to be obtained due to the nature of the contract

Who are you?

1. Skilled in grounds maintenance operations with an awareness of all Health and Safety Legislation
2. Excellent communication skills
3. Supervisory/leadership experience would be an advantage
4. A full, clean UK driving licence is required as you may be required to operate ride-on mowers and drive company vehicles/tow trailers
5. Certified in PA1 & PA6 is desirable
