Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Leader Radiotherapy Radiographer to join our team. Main duties of the job

As a team leader radiotherapy radiographer, you will be under the supervision of the appropriate Operational Manager preparing and delivering radiotherapy using highly specialist equipment. You will regularly participate in all aspects of radiotherapy activities and your role will focus on the management of your area of expertise. As a key element of the role, you will provide information, education, practical and emotional support to patients and carers during their radiotherapy episode. There may be the opportunity to participate in a rotational role within clinical governance, education or treatment co-ordination.

Detailed job description and main responsibilities

Person specification

Qualifications

  • MSc / BSc Radiotherapy/ Therapeutic Radiography or DCR (T)
  • HCPC Registration
  • Evidence of continuous personal, professional and academic development

Knowledge

  • Experience as a Band 6 Therapy Radiographer commensurate with progression to a Band 7 post
  • Experience of working in a radiotherapy department on a wide range of radiotherapy equipment and specialised techniques
  • Experience of collaborating with other staff groups outside Radiotherapy
  • Use of computerised department record and verify systems
  • Participation in clinical governance activities
  • Project management related to service improvement
