An established industry player is seeking a dedicated professional to lead their Building Standards Team. This role offers the opportunity to manage and develop a team focused on ensuring public safety in buildings and structures. You will have Corporate Membership RICS, CABE or CIOB.
You will be responsible for effective and efficient management and development of the Building Standards Team responsible for discharging the Council's statutory functions in relation to the safety of the public in relation to buildings and structures. You will provide leadership, vision and drive innovation in the Building Standards Team to deliver a customer responsive service within a culture of continuous improvement. The main aims of the post are:
You will have experience in all aspects of the Building Standards role, including associated works covered under the Licensing Scotland Act and Civic Scotland Government Act; sound knowledge of the Building (Scotland) Act and associated statutory instruments along with a successful record of leading a team, driving continuous improvement and delivering a high standard of customer service. You will be a committed team player with strong interpersonal, communication, organisational and negotiation skills. The ability to prioritise workloads, meet challenges and deadlines; be committed to a high standard of customer service, have a methodical approach to problem solving along with good IT skills and a drive to innovate to improve services is essential. You will be able to attend evening meetings occasionally and have a full driving licence.
