Overview

Change Grow Live are a charity dedicated to the belief that we can make a difference to our Service Users lives.

We have a new and exciting opportunity for a Team Leader to join the Criminal Justice team here at the Waltham Forest service. As part of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work flexibly and creatively to establish what is needed to have the most positive impact for all who are referred to our service from the criminal justice system.

Our Team Leaders here at Change Grow Live play an integral role in ensuring effective service provision for our service users. This role will require you to be self-motivated and self-directed and will involve lots of in-reach work at local Prisons, Courts, Custody Suites, and Probation offices.

You will have a solid understanding of Continuity of Care within the sector as well as DRR / ATR management and delivery with Probation colleagues as well as IOM management alongside Police colleagues and managing Required Assessments in custody suites.

Full Time Hours: 37.5 per week

Full Time Salary Range: £35,220.59 - £37,184.91 dependent on experience (pro rata for part time hours)

Allowance: £2,195.72 Outer London Weighting, pro rata for part time hours

Responsibilities

About the role:

  • Operational line management of a team of staff which includes supervision (with reflective practice), appraisal, performance and sickness management as well as ensuring staff follow CGL and external policies applicable to their roles.
  • Empowering staff to promote hope, empowerment, choices, control, and opportunities that assist service users reaching their full potential as individuals and community members.
  • Lead on the recruitment, selection and induction of new staff here at CGL Waltham Forest.
  • Lead by example in creating a professional and positive team culture focused on excellent service delivery.
  • Work with your team and key stakeholders within the wider criminal justice partnership to ensure that all service users receive excellent continuity of their care as they move through the criminal justice pathways.
  • Ensure a positive learning environment where integrity and professionalism are paramount, whilst empowering staff to ensure all attempts at positive outcomes are achieved for those using the service.
  • Support the Service Manager in the continual development and improvement of service delivery.
  • Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with partners both internally within the service and externally within a wider partnership.
  • Ensure that staff are competent in the delivery of interventions that reduce risk to service users.
  • Support staff to improve service user outcomes through observed practice, providing timely values-based feedback.

About you:

  • Experience of working with Adults experiencing difficulties around Substance misuse.
  • Excellent knowledge of drugs and alcohol and their effects.
  • Line management experience including the delivery of reflective practice.
  • The ability to lead, empower and motivate a team.
  • Excellent knowledge of safeguarding policies and practices and experience of embedding these operationally.
  • The ability to foster new partnerships and to maintain positive relationships with partner agencies.
  • Knowledge of a range of psychosocial and evidence-based interventions around substance misuse.
  • Knowledge and experience of community-based support/outreach practices.
  • Ability to ensure all record keeping, outcome monitoring and data collection is maintained effectively.
  • Communicate confidently and effectively, verbally and in writing.
  • Respond flexibly to the demands of the post.
  • The ability to keep calm under pressure.
  • Show commitment to facilitating positive outcomes for Adults.
