Job overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Team Administrator in the Specialist Palliative Care Team at North Manchester General Hospital. This part-time role is essential in supporting service delivery.

Main duties of the job

Main purpose of role:

  • To provide administrative support to the Specialist Palliative Care Team at North Manchester General Hospital.
  • To be the first point of contact for health professionals, patients, families and carers.
  • To develop, monitor and maintain record keeping systems and databases within the team.
  • To act as a first point of contact with healthcare professionals within the Trust, from external organisations and with patients, families and carers.
  • To maintain a professional approach when dealing with distressing and emotional situations.
  • To recognise and expedite urgent concerns to the Team Lead, Nurse Specialists or the Consultant.
  • To prepare minutes and agenda for workstream meetings.
  • To maintain databases and assist with the preparation of reports.
  • To maintain effective communication with all members of the team.
  • To deal promptly and efficiently with all verbal, telephone, written and email enquiries.
Person specification
  • Good education background to GCSE level or equivalent.
  • Good level of written English.
