The School and Role
We are working with Secondary Schools in the Richmond area, seeking enthusiastic and motivated individuals to join as Teaching Cover Supervisors. Successful candidates will have the opportunity to work on daily supply or in longer fixed-term supply contracts, supporting students across various subjects.
As a Teaching Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for delivering pre-prepared lessons to classes of approximately 30 pupils in the absence of the regular teacher. While you will cover a range of secondary school subjects, you are not expected to be a subject specialist in each area. Lesson plans will always be provided in advance, and your primary role will be to facilitate learning, manage classroom behaviour, take accurate registers, and provide feedback to the absent teacher.
Successful Teaching Cover Supervisors are adaptable, flexible, confident, and organised. They have a passion for education and supporting young people, making a real difference in students' learning experiences.
This role provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience working within a secondary school, particularly for those considering a career in teaching. Previous experience in a school setting is desirable but not essential. If you are new to the role, we offer a comprehensive Teaching Cover Supervisor Training Programme to equip you with the necessary skills.
