EdEx is working closely with a high-achieving secondary school in Richmond who are looking for bright, enthusiastic graduates to join them as a Teaching Assistant in September. This outstanding school is in the top 1% for progress and is praised for the pastoral support that they offer all of their students. The SENCO is looking for people with a genuine interest in SEN & Mental Health who can work closely with students in KS3, KS4, and KS5 to support them both academically and pastorally.
You will be supporting students with mild SEN & Mental Health needs, all of which will have personalized plans in place for you to follow. Your role will involve building a strong rapport with the students, supporting them in the classroom as well as in the SEN Learning zone, working with them to improve their academic ability, confidence, communication skills, and more.
You will be completing out-of-class interventions as well as in-class support alongside a class teacher for KS3 & KS4 students. Additionally, you will have fortnightly 1:1 sessions with KS5 students in Year 12 & 13. This is a very rewarding role that will give you the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with SEN & Mental Health, as well as the chance to shadow occupational therapists, psychologists, and many more professionals.
