Job description

Scale 3 Teaching Assistant/Scale 5 HLTA

Fixed term – 12 months in the first instance

Start date: September 2025

28.58 hours per week, 8.35am- 3.30pm, term time only

TA role- 8.35am- 12noon

HLTA role- 1.00- 3.30pm

We are looking for someone who:

  • enjoys making a difference to children’s learning
  • is committed to safeguarding children
  • enjoys working as part of a team
  • is able to motivate and inspire, supporting and promoting the vision and ethos of the school
  • has HLTA status or equivalent
  • has experience of teaching whole classes especially within KS1 and KS2
  • has a passion for securing the best outcomes for children
  • is able to support the class teacher in the delivery of lessons as well as daily administrative jobs
  • is happy to work with children on a one-to-one or group basis through tailored interventions e.g. nurture groups, speech and language
  • enjoys working with children with a variety of needs
  • is creative, flexible and has a sense of humour
  • enjoys working with supportive parents, governors and the wider community
  • has excellent interpersonal skills, able to establish and sustain constructive relationships with children and adults

The role will consist of working as a class teaching assistant in the morning, but as a HLTA, covering classes in the afternoons.

Visits: We will be running tours on Thursday 10th April 2025 at 3:45pm (please call the office on 01952 387720 to book a place on this tour). Though tours are not essential, we do strongly encourage them.
